Between starting the new year, receiving a promotion at work and reviving my book blog, January has been a much slower reading month than I had initially hoped. I didn’t manage to read as many books as I would have liked, at all. By that I mean, it’s been a pathetic reading month.
I’ll just have to make up for it in February. I’ll be doing the Series Crackdown readathon, so look out for my post about that!
What did I read in January?
I read a grand total of four books in January. And one audiobook.
How I manage to waste so much time doing absolutely nothing, I don’t know. It’s on my resume under ‘special talents’.
The books I did read were pretty damn good though. Mostly.
- The Treatment, by C. L. Taylor – 2 / 5
- Unteachable by Elliot Wake (formerly Leah Raeder) – 4 / 5
- One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus – 5 / 5
- The Hating Game by Sally Thorne – 5 / 5
- They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera – 5 / 5
What did I write in January?
In January I wrote 7,054 words, making my manuscript now a total of 36,161.
As much as I like to complain, I’m actually reasonably happy with that number. It’s not quite the 1,000 words a day I had hoped for, but it’s on the right track. Especially considering that I’ve been working on this same manuscript for about 8 years now. Could 2018 be the year?
What am I currently reading?
I’m currently reading More Than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer. I requested this from NetGalley and have to say I love it so far!
I haven’t decided on my next audiobook yet – I’m open to suggestions!
How was your January reading? Better than mine? Worse? Are you currently reading (or writing!) anything interesting? I want to know!
